With graves dating to the early 1700s, the Cemetery of The Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury has been a sacred Christian burial ground for 300 years.
We welcome families visiting and tending to their family graves.
We also welcome visitors interested in exploring the cemetery for its history or tracing ancestry.
The Cemetery is private burial ground. Church members may inquire about burial in the cemetery or memorial garden with the Church Office. Cemetery plots and the memorial garden are not available to the public.
In December, we participate in Wreaths Across America, inviting the community to help lay wreaths to honor the 100+ veterans laid to rest in our cemetery.
At the Memorial Garden, there are a pair of memorials recognizing the veterans, an Eagle Scout project of Shrewsbury's Scout Troop #50.
The Shrewsbury Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution have installed markers identifying known Patriots. They continue to research and identify important figures from the American Revolution buried in our cemetery. They also organize service days to clean historical grave markers to aid in their preservation and legibility.
The PCAS Cemetery is overseen by our Cemetery Committee. We are deeply thankful for their dedication to maintaining the cemetery and honoring those laid to rest here.
