The music ministry at PCAS is deeply valued by the congregation, and enhances worship in ways that are too profound to describe in words. The congregation actively participates in singing and the level of participation is a testament to the role of music in worship. We engage a wide variety of musical styles to further reflect the inclusiveness of our mission statement, and we are proud to include traditional, contemporary, blended, and multicultural music (sometimes all within the same service!).
The sanctuary is equipped with a brand new Hauptwerk organ. We frequently also include piano, handbells, and chimes. In addition to our Director of Music, the congregation is blessed to include a number of very talented vocalists and instrumentalists who enrich our music ministry greatly.
Adult Choir
The choir consists of a wide variety of experience levels, and all are welcome to join. You do not need to have any previous experience, and you do not need to know how to read music. However, you do need to be dedicated to teamwork, pay close attention to details, and have a healthy sense of humor. The singers in the adult choir certainly know how to have fun! We rehearse Sunday mornings at 8:30am, and sing regularly in worship.
Bell Choir
We have 3 octaves of Malmark handbells, and a full set of choir chimes. We have room for new ringers, including a tutoring program for adults and children to learn how to ring.
Project SING!
Project SING! which is a way to bring our community together in song. These projects are put together by our director of music ministries and they consist of community singers who can learn music on their own, come together for two rehearsals and sing. That is the end of the project until they are invited again to do another one. These projects consist of mixed groups, quartet, all female or male groups and are a wonderful way to expose our community to our church, praise God with some beautiful music and hopefully bring us all closer to God.
